Their tails droop and uncurl when they’re stressed, nervous, uncertain, etc. Sometimes they droop and uncurl just when they’re relaxed too. But if their tails are that far down, it’s often a good indicator of their moods.
Our golden retriever is very good about staying in sight when off-leash, unless he rustles up some deer.
Strange question – but if they are scared do Shiba inus/Basenjis put their tails between their legs? It looks like it would be a little hard!
