If it is any consultation, most of those people who give those shitty reasons have been contemplating on rehoming their pets for awhile; and the move itself is just the deal-breaker.
It happened to me. Telling people you need to find a new home for a move is a lot easier to say than: “I was thinking with the second brain in my pants, so I bought this pet for my girlfriend; I never liked the damn thing, and now since we broke up and she gave it back to me because she thought I was emotionally-attached to it– and now I have been stuck with it for two years and still haven’t gotten over how vapid I am.” If you say that, people think you’re emotionally shallow.
And yes, I had a few friends who tormented themselves for months about “responsible pet ownership” and thinking they need to keep their lizards, cats, dogs or whatever despite the huge personality mismatch. They keep these animals just out of moral obligation, then they have a nervous breakdown about what to do with their pet(s) during a major event in their life such as moving or a new job.
At the risk of anthropomorphizing (something I do a lot, I admit), I suspect that pet personalities have a lot to do with the people who raised them. And if the person who raised the pet becomes someone whose company you no longer enjoy, well… no wonder there’s a clash of personalities.
Although I will say, as grouchy as Bowdu can get, his personality has always been more malleable than any boyfriend, current or ex! Ha.
Well I can’t exactly take credit for the title… heh.
The tool is definitely adding to the fun of taking pictures. My friend loaned me a thick photography textbook too, which I’ve been taking my time getting through. I was saying to her that my goal is simply to be able to look at my own pictures at the end of the summer and be able to tell a difference.
a great reminder for all those “i’m moving to a place that doesn’t allow dogs TOMORROW take my dog TODAY” people i’m seeing at the shelter.

Great image and title! The photos have been getting better and better! Seems like the camera was definitely a worthwhile purchase!
